The studio
One tint shop on Oakton Street, one car at a time.
Ceramic window tint in Elk Grove Village goes on in one tint shop: Unit C at 837 Oakton St. It has two full-time installers. Javi and Tony own Tint Starz, and one of them tints every car.
Book a time, Monday to Saturday from 9 to 6. Most jobs are done the same day. Javi and Tony also answer calls in Spanish: Tint Starz en español.

One studio: ceramic tint, PPF, wraps and detailing.
Window tint comes in three films: Carbon, and two ceramics from Rayno’s Phantom series, S5 and S9. Both ceramics block 99.9 percent of UV. Teslas get ceramic only; the Tesla window tint page has the packages. The page on window tinting near Elk Grove Village puts all three films side by side.
Under the same roof: paint protection film, color change wraps, chrome delete and a detailing bay next to the tint. Tint, PPF and wraps stay in the shop; detailing is the one service that travels, by mobile detailing van.

S9, the ceramic with the higher infrared rejection, starts at $350 all-around on a coupe: every side window plus the rear glass. A sedan, SUV or truck starts higher, and the windshield and sunroof are priced on their own.

How dark Illinois lets you go
Without a medical exemption, the front side windows can go as dark as 35 percent only when no rear window is darker than 35 percent; darker film in back means lighter film, or none, on the front doors. The Illinois window tint law page has every case, and the shop tells you where your combination lands before any film goes on.

Questions
Is Tint Starz only a tint shop?
No. Tint Starz is a window tint shop first: Carbon and two ceramics, S5 and S9, from $200 for Carbon on a coupe, plus windshields, Teslas and tint removal. Paint protection film, color change wraps and chrome delete are installed in the same building, and detailing is done in the bay next to the tint or by van.
Do you come to me?
For detailing, yes. For window tint, paint protection film and wraps, no: those are installed in the shop on Oakton Street, never in a driveway. The detailing van comes to the ten towns the shop serves, carries its own water and power, and needs a driveway or a parking spot with room to open every door.
Mobile detailing is priced by phone. The mobile detailing page lists what the van does.
How do I book an appointment?
Call, or send the quote form with your name, phone and year, make and model. The shop calls you back with a price within minutes during shop hours, then you pick a time, Monday to Saturday between 9 and 6. A $50 deposit holds the time and comes off your total.
Can I get my car detailed while it is here for tint?
Yes. Ask for it when you ask for your tint price, and the detail is done in the bay next to the tint. Detailing added to a tint job is priced under the regular menu: on a coupe or sedan, Wash and Seal starts at $55 instead of $65, and the Inside and Out Refresh starts at $149.
